0.6/1 kV Multi-core cables, XLPE insulated, unarmoured with Copper conductor IEC 60502-1

Description

These are low voltage (LV) power cables with copper conductors, cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation, and a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) outer sheath. The cables are designed to carry electrical power at a nominal voltage of 0.6/1 kV (600/1000 volts). Multi-core construction means the cable contains more than one insulated conductor under a common outer sheath.

 

Application

  • IEC 60228: Conductors of insulated cables (Class 1 or 2)

  • IEC 60332-1: Flame retardant test for single vertical cable

  • IEC 60754: Test on gases evolved during combustion (if low halogen or LSZH variant)

  • IEC 61034: Measurement of smoke density (if applicable)

 

Construction

  1. Conductor

    • Type: Solid (Class 1) or stranded (Class 2) per IEC 60228

  2. Insulation

    • Material: Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE)

    • Temperature rating: 90°C normal operation, 130°C short circuit

  3. Core Identification

  4. Assembly

    • Cores are twisted together with fillers (if necessary) and binder tape
