0.6/1 kV Single-core cables, PVC insulated, unarmoured with copper conductor IEC 60502-1

Description

These are low voltage (0.6/1 kV) single-core electrical cables with a plain annealed copper conductor, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) insulation, and no metallic armour. Designed for use in power and control circuits, these cables are widely used in fixed installations where mechanical protection is not required from the cable itself.

 

Application

These cables are suitable for:

  • Fixed installations in conduits, ducts, trunking, or control panels

  • Power distribution, lighting, and control wiring

  • Use in indoor and outdoor settings (with protection)

  • Industrial and commercial buildings

  • Not suitable for direct burial or mechanically aggressive environments without additional protection

 

Standards

The cable is designed to comply with:

  • IEC 60502-1: Power cables with extruded insulation for rated voltages from 1 kV to 3 kV

  • IEC 60228: Conductors of insulated cables (Class 1: solid, Class 2: stranded)

  • IEC 60332-1: Flame retardant test for a single insulated cable

  • Optional (as per project spec):

    • IEC 60754: Halogen acid gas test (if LSZH variants are required)

    • IEC 61034: Smoke density test
