Description

This is a low-voltage power cable designed for fixed installations with mechanical protection. It consists of:

• Stranded aluminum conductor

• PVC insulation

• Aluminum Wire Armour (AWA) - suitable for single-core cables

• PVC outer sheath

This type of cable is generally referred to as AL/PVC/AWA/PVC.

 

Application

This cable is widely used in:

• Power distribution networks (0.6/1 kV)

• Fixed installations requiring mechanical protection

• Indoor and outdoor installations, including in cable ducts, on cable trays, or directly buried (with suitable backfill)

• Single-core cable systems carrying AC current (AWA avoids magnetic losses)
